OBITUARY: Henry J. ‘Hank’ Hatfield
March 13, 1922 - July 14, 2002
TURNER - Henry J. Hatfield, 80, died Sunday. He was born in Spokane, Wash.
Hank was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during WWII. He worked for the State of Oregon Highway Dept. as a driver and mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Stolper), whom he married on March 18, 1945 in Walnut Creek, Calif.; daughter, Laura Bradley of Aumsville; brothers, Robert of Stayton, Edward and Orville, both of Salem, and James of Milton, Fla.; sisters, Ailene Sims of Portland and Natalie Nelson of Warrenton, Ore.; and granddaughter, Sheena Gleason, and grandson, Derrick Gleason, both of Aumsville.
Hank had lived in Turner since 1927 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Veterans International Association for the Blind.
Visiting will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, with memorial services 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, all at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery. Contributions may be made to WWII Memorial Fund or OHSU Leukemia Research.
