1900 OR CENSUS - John A. Ridinger, age 40, b. Aug 1853 in Illinois, occupation laborer, is enumerated with his wife of 23 years, Sarah M., age 38, b. Jul [year not legible] in New York, daughter Mary E., single, age 19, b. Feb 1887 in Kansas, and brother Nicholas, age 45, single, b. Missouri.
1910 OR CENSUS (Marion Co., Brooks, ED 202, pg 4B) - John A. Ridinger, age 56, occupation farmer, b. Illinois, is enumerated with his wife of 32 years, Sarah M., age 48, mother of 2 children, b. New York, along with Opal, age 4, identified as adopted daughter, b. Oregon, and Mary E., age 29, divorced, identified as daughter [of John], mother of 3 children 1 of whom is living at the time of the census, b. Kansas.

DISCREPANCY: Date of birth given in 1900 census record does not match age given in same document.
OBITUARY: 
John A. Ridinger died at his home near Hopmere, Ore. April 11, 1922, after a lingering illness. The Funeral services were held from the residence on April 12 at 2 p.m. and interment was in the Pioneer cemetery. He leaves a wife and two married daughters.
