OBITUARY: 
Karl M. Brown Buried in Pioneer Cemetery. 
Karl M.. Brown, 44, died at his home in the Waconda district Thursday, September 14. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gladys Brown; daughters. Mrs. Orville Thompson and the Misses Shirley and Eloise Kay Brown, all of Waconda; son, Cpt. Melvin L. Brown. US army air corps; sister, Mrs. H. R. Scheurman of Monmouth; brothers, Leslie Brown of Forest Grove. For several years he owned and operated a gas and auto repair station near Waconda but ill health forced him to retire leaving the equipment to Ivan LaBonsky who is now carrying on the business. Funeral services were held on Saturday, the 16th, from Clough-Barrick chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. W. H. Cooksley officiating. Interment followed at the Pioneer cemetery south of Gervais.
