OBITUARY: 
J. H. Hugill was born at Pilots Cottage, Yorkshire, England, Dec. 21, 1880. He died Friday, Oct. 20, 1944, at his residence in Hubbard. He came to the United States at the age of one year, lived for a few years in North Dakota and the remainder of his life in Oregon. He was a member of the Maplewood grange; Clackamas county.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Hugill. He is survived by his widow, Lela, a daughter; Joyce Hugill, of Salem; a son, Lt. Harry S. Hugill, in the service in the South Pacific, and the lieutenant’s wife and daughter in Washington, DC; also two sisters; Mrs. Mary Imlah and Mrs. Francis Lehman of Salem, and a brother, Alec, of Alaska.
