OBITUARY: 
Gervais -- Mrs. Edna Catherine Manning, a native of the Gervais area, died April 23 in a Salem hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Ringo-Cornwell Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Pioneer Cemetery, Gervais.
She was born July 12, 1900, in Gervais. She married Ward Manning in Salem September 22, 1928 and resided in the Gervais area. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and its Women’s Association, Gervais Garden Club, Rebekah lodge, Woodburn Grange and the American Legion auxiliary.
Survivors include the widower, Ward Manning; a son, Ellis, of Corvallis; a daughter Mrs. Mary Jane Richardson, Salem, and four grandchildren.
