OBITUARY: 
Gregory F. Schmidt, 78, of Salem died here Sunday.
He was born in Mott, N.D., and moved to Salem in 1947 from Silverton.
He worked as a driver for Curley’s Dairy for 33 years. He belonged to the First Christian Church and the Chemeketa Lodge No. 1 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He enjoyed music and camping.
On December 7, 1941, he and his wife, Lavaun, were married in Longview, Washington.
Survivors include his wife, daughters, Nona C. Turnbull, Sublimity and Leana Kay Beaumont of San Diego; son, Allan G. Aumsville; brothers, John of Longview and Joe of Camas, Wash.; sisters, Barbara Kopp of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Julie Schwb of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, and Rose Shook of Weaverville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday in Howell-Edward Doerksen mortuary. Interment will be in Brooks Pioneer Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
