OBITUARY:
BROOKS - J. R. was born in Damascus, Arkansas on January 13, 1926 and passed away peacefully Mon. July 28, 2008. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and raising animals of all kinds. J. R. was a devout Christian and attended Brooks Assembly of God for many years.
He is loved and will be missed greatly by his wife of 59 years, Margie; sons, Frank (Sharon), Ronny (Jean), and Bobby (Lisa); daughters Ellen (Randy), and Norma (Mike). He is also survived by sister, Vaudalee Dunham; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
It was his wish to have no services. Private interment will be held. A dinner in his honor will be held at 2 p.m. on Sat. August 2 at Brooks Assembly of God. The family requests no flowers. [newspaper clipping, not cited]
