OBITUARY: 
GERVAIS - Betty Jean (Winegar) Beckner, 82, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2009 in Gervais, Ore. Betty was born on January 22, 1927 in Salem, Ore. She was the third child born of Claire and Dorothy Winegar and grew up with her three brothers in Monmouth, Ore. Betty graduated from Salem High School in 1944. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Beckner, whom she met in high school and married in 1946. They were married 63 years. Betty was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, candy making and crafts, and took great joy in sharing the fruits of these gifts with others. Betty was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Woodburn, Ore. Along with her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Robert L. Beckner and Linda (Beckner) Hari; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Betty's funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Keizer Funeral Chapel. Private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association . Arrangements entrusted to Keizer Funeral Chapel.
