1920 WA CENSUS - Harvey Harris, age 9, b. Oklahoma, is enumerated with Charles H., age 50, occupation paper mill laborer, b. Indiana, and Myrtle, age 40, b. Indiana, along with Herbert, age 16, Alice, age 13, Cora, age 11, Nellie, age 7, Gertrude, age 5, Bertha, age 3, and Myrtle, age 7 months, all born in Oklahoma.
OBITUARY: 
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 1997 at the Beaverton Elks Lodge, 3500 SW 104th for Harvey Edward Harris who died June 3rd at age 87. Mr. Harris was born June 7, 1910 in O’Keene, Oklahoma. He moved to Spokane, Washington as a boy and to St. Helens, Oregon as an adolescent. He married Alice Chapman in 1937. He graduated from Oregon Normal School and later received a master’s degree from Oregon State University. Mr. Harris taught in Goble and Sheridan Schools and was principal at Willamina Grade School. In 1949, Mr. Harris became principal of Raleigh Hills School. He was later superintendent of Raleigh School District and assistant superintendent of Beaverton School District. He completed his career as principal of Merle Davies School in Beaverton. After his retirement in 1970, Mr. Harris and his wife moved to Lincoln City, Oregon, where they lived until Alice’s death in 1982. Mr. Harris returned to Beaverton in 1983. He married Grace Grogan in 1987. Survivors include his wife, Grace; sister Nelly Kosney of Redmond, Wash.; sons Jerry of Beaverton, John of Scapoose, Darrell of Northridge, Calif.; daughter, Ruth Falco of Portland, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
