STAYTON - Robert Roy Hatfield, 83, died Sat., Nov. 1, 2003.
Bob was born in Spokane, Wash. He grew up in the Turner area and served during WWII in the U.S. Army. Bob was a funeral director for 40 plus years, working for Barrick Funeral Home in Salem and a retired partner in Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton.
He married Gladys Lund in Salem on Oct. 15, 1949. He was a member of New Hope Four Square Church in Salem. Bob loved his family and enjoyed camping, traveling, and rock hounding.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Roger of Knoxville, Tenn. and Kim of Aumsville; daughters, Rochelle Goertzen of Sublimity and Cheryl Carrillo of Pacific City, Ore.; brothers, Edward and, Orville of Salem and James of Florida; sisters, Ailene Sims of Portland and Natalie Nelson of Warrenton, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 8 at New Hope Four Square Church in Salem. Contributions may be made to Union Gospel Mission. Arrangements are by Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton.
