OBITUARY:  Henry J. ‘Hank’ Hatfield March 13, 1922 - July 14, 2002 TURNER - Henry J. Hatfield, 80, died Sunday. He was born in Spokane, Wash. Hank was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during WWII. He worked for the State of Oregon Highway Dept. as a driver and mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Stolper), whom he married on March 18, 1945 in Walnut Creek, Calif.; daughter, Laura Bradley of Aumsville; brothers, Robert of Stayton, Edward and Orville, both of Salem, and James of Milton, Fla.; sisters, Ailene Sims of Portland and Natalie Nelson of Warrenton, Ore.; and granddaughter, Sheena Gleason, and grandson, Derrick Gleason, both of Aumsville. Hank had lived in Turner since 1927 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Veterans International Association for the Blind. Visiting will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, with memorial services 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, all at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
