OBITUARY:
Pioneer Woman Dead at Fairfield - Mrs. Nancy Ditmars Succumbs as Result ot Two Strokes of Paralysis. Word was received in the city last evening that Mrs. Nancy Ditmars died in Fairfield yesterday afternoon after suffering two stokes of paralysis. She was 82 years of age and one of the pioneer women of the state. Mrs. Ditmars was mother of Mrs. L. A. Byrd, Jr., 603 North Winter street this city. She is survived by several children, nearly all of whom were at her bedside when death came. She was stricken with paralysis several days ago and some small hopes were held out for her recovery, but yesterday morning a second stroke hastened her death and when complete paralysis set in it was know she could survive but a few hours. She was well known in this city and she made her home for some time with her daughter, Mrs. Byrd. No funeral arrangements had been made last evening as far as was ascertained.
