May 1874 in Iowa, along with Gladys, age 4, b. Jul 1895 in Oregon, and Royal, age 1, b. Apr 1899 in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family are Paul McKee, identified as servant, age 17, b. Jun 1882 in Missouri, and George Smith, identified as servant, age 45, b. May 1855 in New York.
OBITUARY: 
Postmaster Dies Suddenly Sunday
MARION—Miles A. Barber, 70, postmaster of Marion, died suddenly Sunday night in Salem, where he and Mrs. Barber were visiting for the evening. He had been in apparent good health.; Mr. Barber, a resident here for more than 20 years, is survived by the widow, Effie M.; seven children, Royal J. of Marion, Wayne of Halsey, Mrs. Doris Robbins of Turner, Mrs. Gladys Boyce and Mrs. Francis Snyder of Salem, Mrs. Elma Cost of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Marian Stafford of Portland; a brother, Fred of Huston, Mont., and a sister, Mrs. Harriett Barker, also of Montana. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Clough-Barrick at Salem.
