The family immigrated to the US in 1918.

BIOGRAPHICAL:
Slyters to Celebrate 50 Years
WOODBURN—Mr. and Mrs. George T. Slyter will be honored at a reception in observance of their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 2 at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Plumb, 890 Marion St., Woodburn.
The 50th anniversary party will be given by their two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stevens of Aberdeen, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Plumb.
Mr. and Mrs. Slyter, who were married on July 4, 1922 at Marion, Ore., have eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Slyter retired in 1971 after 22 years as owner of the Woodburn Shoe Service.

OBITUARY: 
WOODBURN - Charlotte E. Slyter, 70, 124 W. Lincoln St., age 25 year Woodburn resident, died Monday in a Salem hospital.
Born in Ukraine, Russia, she came to the United States as a young child.
Surviving are widower George; daughter Blanchie Stevens, Aberdeen, Wash., and Rose Plumb, Woodburn; brothers Chris Schmidt, Salem, and Bill Schmidt, Sunnyvale, Calif.; sisters Betty Uebelman and Ann Lawrence, Salem; Katy Bricks, Jefferson, and Jennie Metcalfe, Turner; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services are pending at Cornwell mortuary.
