Sep 1879 in Oregon, in the home of his grandfather Benjamin See, age 54, occupation farmer, b Nov 1845 in Kentucky, and his wife of 35 years, Nancy, age 56, mother of 8 children 7 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Feb 1844 in Iowa, along with Jefferson C. See, age 32, single, occupation farmer, b. Dec 1867 in Oregon, Joseph C. See, age 25, single, occupation saw mill laborer, b. Jun 1874 in Oregon, and Albert See, age 20, occupation farmer, b. Sep 1879 in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Elizabeth Hammack, identified as mother [of Nancy?], age 83, widowed, b. Jan 1817 in Kentucky.

OBITUARY: 
Ivan B. Sutton, former mayor of Jefferson, owner of the Plantation Inn there, real estate and insurance dealer and horseman, died Thursday in a Salem hospital at the age of 77. He had been in ill health and was stricken Thursday with an apparent heart attack at his home, 4915 Swegle Road NE.
Sutton was born at La Grande and lived at Seattle before he came to Jefferson after World War II. He was a veteran of both World Wars, director of Oregon Governor’s Guard, president of Salem Saddle Club and member of Oregon Quarter Horse Association, Sheriff’s Posse, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He had been a raiser and shower of horses, three times mayor of Jefferson in the 1950s and 1960s, Linn County deputy sheriff and 1960 candidate for Marion County sheriff, owner of the Plantation Inn restaurant at Jefferson and general sales manager for an auto dealership and he continued to operate the Ivan B. Sutton real estate business in Jefferson.
He leaves a widow, Frances; daughter Mrs. Hugh Pitner of Hillsboro; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are pending at Fisher mortuary in Albany.
