OBITUARY: 
Death Claims Salem Resident – Christian Kihs, resident of Salem for some 55 years, died Sunday at a Salem nursing home. He was 86. The residence is at 280 21st St. SE. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Kihs was a farmer and a laborer in Salem. He was born in Germany and moved to Salem from Michigan in 1904.
Survivors include the widow, Maggie Kihs, Salem; four sons, Ernest, Eugene, John, Cave Junction; Edward, Waldport, Ore., and Fred Kihs, Salem; four daughters, Elizabeth Elsom, Philomath, Margaret Bowman, Salem; Anna Janney, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mabel Kilmer, Salem.
Services are pending at the W. T. Rigdon mortuary.
