OBITUARY: 
Elden Henry Mulkey of 1539 Silver Falls Dr. died Saturday at Silver Crest Manor. He was 83.
Mr. Mulkey was born Oct. 3, 1899, to Mac and Estelle Mulkey on the Victor Point area farm settled in 1850 by his grandfather, Charles Mulkey. He spent his entire life here, working as a saw filer for Silver Falls Timber Company from 1920 through 1945. He then worked for other mills and as a logger.
In an April 7, 1924, ceremony in Salem, Elden Mulkey took Grace Parrish as his wife. She survives him. He was a long time member of the Grange.
Other survivors include his son Maurice Mulkey of Silverton; daughter Lucille Huber of Stayton; brothers Arthur Mulkey and Ralph Mulkey, both of Silverton and Leland Mulkey of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Unger Chapel with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Dr. Dale Moore officiating.
Honorary casket bearers were Leo Radford, Peter Foltz, Erlin Tunnen and Virgil Tschantz.
Active casket bearers were Larry Hannen, Doug Hannen, Donald Mulkey, Alan Mulkey, Warren Mulkey, and Lloyd Mulkey.
