OBITUARY: 
Silverton – John Weston Goodknecht, 77, died Sunday at his home on Route 3. Born August 31, 1877, in Kansas he had lived in this area for 75 years.
Survivors are the widow, Eunice; three daughters, Edna Clark, Junction City; Martha Riches, Silverton; Helen Menegat, North Bend; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Brooks, Salem; Mary Skaife, Silverton; Minnie Huxtable, Klamath Falls; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4:15 Tuesday at Ekman Memorial Chapel in Silverton. Rev. I. M. Nelson will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.”
