1870 OR CENSUS - Silas Williams, age 36, occupation farmer, b. Missouri, is enumerated with Sarah, age 25, b. Iowa, along with Mary A., age 5, b. Oregon and Clara R., age 3, b. Oregon;
OBITUARY: 
Rev Mr. Williams had been a resident of Oregon continuously for 67 years and for the past 56 years he had lived practically all of the time on the farm where he died. He was a native of Missouri, 85 years of age, and crossed the plains to Oregon in 1852. In 1856 he served in the Rogue River Indian War.
For the past 42 years Rev. Mr. Williams was pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church at Tallman, conducting his ministerial work in addition to managing his farm. Rev. Mr. Williams is survived by three children – Mrs. Addie Short, who resided with him at the farm home; Mrs. Clara Ross of Albany and Edward D. Williams, an attorney with office at 602 Corbett Building, Portland.

Body Arrives Today – The body of Rev. Silas Williams of Tallman, who died yesterday in Albany, will arrive in Salem on the 2 o’clock Southern Pacific train and the funeral party will proceed from the station to the Warren Cemetery in the Waldo Hills, under the direction of the Rigdon undertaking establishment.

Williams Funeral Today – The body of Rev. Silas Williams of Tallman, who died in Albany Friday did not arrive yesterday as announced, but will arrive today at 2 p.m. on the Southern Pacific. The body will be in charge of the Rigdon company and the funeral party will proceed immediately to the Warren Cemetery in the Waldo Hills, where services and burial will take place.
