BIOGRAPHICAL:
George D. Hibbard recently returned from Burns, Oregon, where he has made a home for two years. He is now visiting his brother, Trenton.
His account of Harney County is very interesting. The way it is developing is phenomenal. The great areas of pasture are being divided into farms which produce a good stand of wheat, making the value of products far exceed that realized by stock raising alone. In two years the farm areas have increased at least 10 times. We are of the opinion that Harney must be feeling the influx of eastern immigration as well as the great Willamette Valley.
Silvertonian Appeal 24 Jul 1908 1:5.
BIOGRAPHICAL:
George D. Hibbard went to Portland Wednesday to take charge of a load of Jersey cattle from the Ladd farm consigned to Dr. L. E. Hibbard, Burns, Oregon. Mr. Hibbard will accompany the stock there. Dr. Hibbard is going into the dairy business quite extensively, and will probably make a success of that as he does everything else he undertakes. Recently the doctor was hunting on the Steens Mountains and killed a deer, which weighed 210 pounds dressed.
