1880 OR CENSUS - Pheobe Metteer, age 71, b. New York, is enumerated with husband Geo., age 82, b. New York. They are enumerated as mother-in-law and father-in-law in the home of Henry and Margaret Warren and their children.
OBITUARY: 
At Turner, this county, on Tuesday, March 5th, 1889, Mrs. Phoebe Whiteaker Metteer, aged almost 81 years.
The deceased was a respected old pioneer and several children and grand-children in this county and east of the mountains, besides numberless friends and neighbors who have known her kindness, mourn her demise. She was the mother of Mrs. Henry Warren, of the Waldo hills, and will be interred in the Warren burying ground. Funeral today at 1 o’clock from Turner.
