OBITUARY: Dale William Stuart, 54, of 534 Clarmar Drive NE, died Sunday in a Salem hospital after a short illness.
Born in St. John, Wash., he came to Salem in 1953. He was first executive secretary of the Oregon Fryer Association in 1958 and was a marketing specialist in the State Department of Agriculture for 10 years.
From 1960 through 1969 he owned and managed Salem Golf Land, located east of Salem, and was a golf pro for 10 years. In 1974 he became assistant director of the Western Wheat Association in Portland.
Survivors include the widow, Erna; sons, Mark W., Horton, Scott F. of Vienna, Austria, and Rick D. of Monmouth; brother, Rexford B., Ephrata, Wash., and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church. The family suggests contributions be made in his name to Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Rigdon-Ransom Mortuary is in charge.
