OBITUARY: 
George Wood, 72, of Salem died Monday. The cause of death was unavailable.
Born in Chicago, he graduated from high school in Union City, Mich. He moved to California in 1950, graduating from Bay Cities Bible Institute, Oakland, in 1956 and Western Baptist College in 1966.
He was ordained to ministry in 1966, serving in two churches in California and one in Michigan.
He taught Christian day schools for 11 years in California.
He moved to Salem in 1991.
He enjoyed reading and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Grace (Wilson), whom he married on Oct. 5, 1946; sons, Eric of Salem and Carl of Hyde Park, N. Y.; daughter, Jean Waggoner of Lawrenceville, Ga.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p. m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, where he was a member. Private family interment will be a Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Virgil R. Golden Funeral Service. Contributions: Memorial fund, in care of the church.
