OBITUARY: 
Died – Thomas Jones – Late resident of 10695 State St., June 25, in a local hospital. Survived by widow Mildred D. Jones; daughter Christine Jones, both of Salem; sister, Mrs. Harvey Meyer, Turner. Services 2 p.m. Wed., June 28, Silverton Baptist Church, Rev. Orval Whitman and Rev. David Turner officiating. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. Virgil T. Golden Chapel 605 Com’l SE at Oka in charge of arrangements. [uncited]

Thomas Jones, 62, of 10695 State St., died Sunday in a local hospital following a long illness.
Jones, a farmer, was born and reared on the farm he operated prior to his illness.
Surviving are widow Mildred and daughter Christine Jones, both of Salem, sister Mrs. Harvey Meyer, Turner.

Thomas Jones Taken by Death – Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Thomas Jones, 62, who died Sunday at Salem Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were at the Baptist Church in Silverton under the direction of Golden Mortuary in Salem with Rev. Orval Whitman and Rev. David Turner officiating. Vault interment was at the Pioneer Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Jones had lived all his life on the same farm, about 10 miles out of Salem, which was listed as a “Century Farm,” owned by his parents. Survivors are his wife Mildred and daughter Miss Christine Jones at home and a sister, Mrs. Harvey Meyer of Turner.
Active pallbearers were Glenn Leighty, Dale Stondley, Kenneth Brown, Howard Mader, Donald Mader, and James Thompson.
Honorary Bearers were Russell Burr, Elfin Ross, Russell Williams, Dr. G. McNeilly, Paul Silke, Elmer Hansen, Arthur DeVries, Adolph Shutz, Clark Lee, and Henry Turner.
