OBITUARY: 
Death Claims Eva T. Jones, Valley Native – Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in the Virgil T. Golden Chapel for Mrs. Eva T. Jones, descendent of early Oregon pioneers, who died Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Alice Meyer, 3690 State St. Born in the Waldo Hills section east of Salem on
September 24, 1881, she was the daughter of Thomas Benton Patton and Alice Downing Patton, both descended from early Oregon settlers.
Mrs. Jones was a Grange member for more than 50 years and was secretary of the Macleay Grange for 39 years. She also was a longtime secretary of the Marion County Pomona Grange.
She was married to W. A. Jones in January of 1907. He preceded her in death in April of 1952. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Christian Church and in recent years had attended the Pratum Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to the daughter in the Salem area include a son, Thomas Jones, Salem; a sister, Mrs. Genevieve Mader, Salem; and three granddaughters, Carolyn Meyer, Donna Meyer, and Joyce Meyer, all of Salem. Rev. George W. Bruce will officiate at the services and interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
