Apr 1843 in Denmark, year of immigration 1865, and his wife of 4 years, Line, age 41, mother of 8 children, 7 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Jul 1858 in Denmark, along with Chester E., age 3, b. Feb 1897 in Wisconsin, Soren Sorenson, identified as step-son [of Hans], age 11, b. Oct 1889 in Wisconsin, and Christine Sorensen, identified as step-daughter [of Hans] age 9, b. Apr 1891 in Wisconsin.
1930 OR CENSUS - Helena Christensen, age 30, b. Wisconsin, is enumerated as a lodger with the Amos Morlan family;
BIOGRAPHICAL:
Home Wedding Solemnized – Miss Helena Christensen, who closed a term of school at Pleasant Ridge last Wednesday, yesterday at a 1 o’clock wedding became the bride of James Gilham of Salem, Rev. E. B., Luther of The Dalles Calvary Baptist church officiating. The wedding was held at the home of Mr. Gilham’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Means of Pleasant Ridge.
The couple were attended by Miss Mary Webb and George Gilham, while little Melva Means acted as flower girl. Charles Roth played the wedding march and sang two selections. The bride wore a wedding dress of white crepe and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white rosebuds. The couple left today for Indiana and Illinois for a two months visit. On their return, they will make their home at Salem.
A wedding dinner was served following the ceremony yesterday to a small group of relatives and friends, including the groom’s mother, brother and sister and a friend from Salem, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roth Sr., and Rev. and Mrs. Luther of The Dalles. [uncited newspaper clipping dated 6 May 1934]

Helena Lillian Gilham, 48, at the residence, Salem route 5, Tuesday, December 2. Survived by husband, James W. Gilham of Salem; son, Daniel James Gilham, Salem; sisters, Mrs. Anna Christoferson, Oregon City, Mrs. Christine DeJean, Troy, Ore., and Miss Rose Sorensen, Berkeley, Calif.; brothers, Chester E. Christensen, New Lisbon, Wisc., and James E. Christensen, Chicago. Member of First Baptist Salem. Services will be in the Howell-Edwards chapel Saturday, December 6, at 1 p.m. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd T. Anderson will officiate.
