OBITUARY:
Mrs. Dabney Passes Away – Popular Young Woman of the Waldo Hills Succumbs to Injuries – Funeral Service in Portland today – Burial Will Be Here, Sunday – Mrs. Evelyn Geer-Dabney died Thursday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland and will be buried in the Waldo Hills cemetery at 12 o’clock, Sunday.
Mrs. Dabney was 32 years of age, and was the wife of H.B. Dabney, of the realty firm of Dabney & Dabney of Portland. She was the daughter of the late L.B. Geer and Eglentine and a cousin of Hon. T.T. Geer. She is survived by her husband, her mother, two sisters, and three brothers. She was a graduate of Willamette University and a member of the Methodist church.
Her death was due to injuries received last October 25th in a train wreck on the Goldendale, Wash., branch of the North Bank road, when she suffered internal injuries. She was treated at the hospital for a time and then removed to her home, but was taken back to the hospital when cerebro-spinal meningitis developed.
Mrs. Dabney leaves many friends in Marion County to mourn her death. Funeral services will be held in Portland this afternoon at the Finley Chapel at 3 o’clock, and the remains will be brought to this city Sunday morning on the Oregon Electric car, arriving a little before 9 o’clock, when the funeral party will leave for the Waldo Hills Cemetery. Rev. P.S. Knight, an old friend of the family, will conduct the services at the grave.
