OBITUARY:  At Turner, this county, on Tuesday, March 5th, 1889, Mrs. Phoebe Whiteaker Metteer, aged almost 81 years. The deceased was a respected old pioneer and several children and grand-children in this county and east of the mountains, besides numberless friends and neighbors who have known her kindness, mourn her demise. She was the mother of Mrs. Henry Warren, of the Waldo hills, and will be interred in the Warren burying ground. Funeral today at 1 o’clock from Turner.
