OBITUARY: Vera F. Jones, 85, of Rt. 3 Box 128, died Tuesday in a Silverton nursing home. A native of Kansas, she moved to Silverton as an infant. She was a bookkeeper for the old Steelhammer Drug Store and a member of Neighbors of Woodcraft and Marion County Federation of Women’s Clubs.
Survivors include stepson, William Jones, Aberdeen, Wash.; stepdaughters, Jacqueline Lusier, Edmonds, Wash., Helen Gill, Gulfport, Miss.; brother, Percy Ottaway, Aurora; sister, Olive Ottaway, Silverton; 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Unger Mortuary, with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.
