OBITUARY: 
Roy Elmer Cooper, 70, of 9665 State St., died Monday at home.
Born in Leith, N.D., he came to Salem 35 years ago. He was a railroad carpenter for Southern Pacific for 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Edith M. Salem; daughters, Etta Schafer, Aumsville, Vicki Cooper, Salem, and Marcia Cooper, Portland; stepmother Dorothy Cooper, San Rafael, Calif.; brother, William, Forsyth Mont., half-brothers, Lloyd and Clyde Cooper, both in California, and Ray Cooper, Salem; sisters, Jean Hennie, Fremont, Calif., and Gertie Hahn, Albany; half-sisters, Fern, Peggy and Carol, all in California; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Rigdon-Ranson Mortuary. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, on State Street, at 119th Street N.E.
